As a heritage organisation, ActewAGL has a long and proud history of supporting the events, organisations and causes that make the region a great place to live. 2020 was a year of challenges, from the Black Summer bushfires, the Canberra hailstorm and a world-wide pandemic. Throughout these setbacks, ActewAGL has strengthened its commitment by increasing the financial support options available to customers, and launched the inaugural round of the ActewAGL Community Grants Program. Once again, this year, we have continued to contribute and invest in your region, even in the face of uncertainty.
You might ask—why invest in the community? And it’s a question that’s worth asking. We employ hundreds of locals directly and many more indirectly, so it’s our responsibility to support the community we live in. We have a responsibility to the region, our region, to empower its growth and development.
And while we prefer to power the spotlight than be under it, it’s important that we showcase our partnerships and highlight the impactful programs we’ve been powering over the last year. So, we’ve shared our ActewAGL Community Programs and Partnerships Report 2020-21 to summarise the positive effect ActewAGL has had on people and places, and in turn, shine a light on the organisations who are making a real difference in the lives of locals.
